📅 Changes in the 2025 USCIS Civics Test
🔄 Key Updates
The test now includes 20 oral questions selected from a pool of 128. The interview officer stops the test as soon as the applicant reaches 12 correct answers (pass) or 9 wrong answers (fail).
All questions and answers are now written in simplified and consistent English for clarity.
Some USCIS offices have started using a tablet-based version of the test, though paper and oral versions remain standard.
The civics test is conducted during the naturalization interview and takes about 10 minutes.
📊 Summary
The new format is designed to make the test simpler and fairer, focusing on understanding core civic concepts rather than memorizing complex phrasing.
